With the hustle and bustle, anxiety, and tension we have and are confronting at the beginning of 2022.
I thought it was important that we stop, and remind ourselves that we do live in the land blessed with opportunity and a lifestyle the envy of many.
Our cool winters, traditional autumns, mild summers, and colourful spring, highlights that we are truly the Queensland city where you can experience all four seasons. A Garden City with excess of 150 green spaces, characterised by its tree-lined streets. Queensland’s only Garden City is a joy to explore.
A city filled with live entertainment, international events, fine dining, hidden bars and coffee shops, a thriving cultural sector delivered through the largest performing arts space in regional Australia, in a setting that feels country, creates a magical city, perched on the great escarpment.

Schools and universities of the highest calibre, home of the highest quality production of produce and easy access within and around our city, which is connected to the world, create, in my biased view, a lifestyle that should be promoted and shouted from the treetops.
A place of remarkable history. A place of great significance to our first nations people, a reflection of our European influences and the growing population of new Australians, calling Toowoomba home, reveals our multi-culturalism and the care we have for all who live in the city.
But wait there is more
A short 90 minutes away from the Queensland Capital and with hope of this time being reduced by half when fast rail is built, access to the world via Wellcamp Airport and a pipeline of large city-shaping projects, demonstrates that growth and opportunity, right now, seems endless and we need to grab it with both hands and not let go.
As we face our current challenges and fears and do all we can to support our local businesses and our community, I hope this short reflection on our backyard, provides us all with encouragement and a reminder of our special city and the boundless possibilities.
