NO FESTIVAL OF FOOD AND WINE IN 2025?
The future of the once touted event of three mouth-watering days and nights where you can sample the world-famous produce from the Queensland Country region, all in one location, remains unknown. This marquee Carnival of Flowers event, hyped as the way treat yourself to incredible flavours, produce and wine fresh from the bountiful pastures, orchards and wine vineyards of the region future remains under a dark cloud.
Toowoomba Chamber, Chief Executive Officer, Todd Rohl said, “Our members are becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of engagement with the business community and transparency around the future of the Festival of Food and Wine.
“We have actively advocated for Toowoomba Regional Council to proactively collaborate with small business, increase engagement with small business, and promote and showcase small business.
“Our members are willing and able to work with Toowoomba Regional Council in a collaborative and transparent way for the betterment of the region.
“This approach will help ensure events like Festival of Food and Wine, which showcases our region, continues to build and grow its presence within Australia and internationally.
“We know, the Toowoomba Regional Council plays a critical role in small business success, which is best achieved by engaging with and finding solutions with small business and the broader community.
“We urge Toowoomba Regional Council to bring together a group of businesses to collaborate with, innovate with, and share ideas to ensure events like the Festival of Food and Wine are retained”, expressed Todd.
