Chief Executive Paves Way for New Leadership, Transition Underway
The Toowoomba Chamber Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Todd Rohl, will step down from his role of CEO. The Toowoomba Chamber Board has accepted Mr Rohl’s resignation as CEO and will shortly commence the process of recruiting a new CEO.
Myf Rigby, President of the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce said, “The Toowoomba Chamber Board recognises and celebrates Todd’s leadership, passion, and dedication over the past five years. Some key achievements include:
● building of the Toowoomba Chamber brand, locally and nationally;
● working with Georgie Carswell to build the Business Connect program to secure over a million dollars in funding to support and connect employers and employees in the region;
● a 95% increase in the membership base;
● a 100% increase in income reinvested back into the member base;
● advocacy in areas such as payroll tax reform, housing reform, red tape and administration burden reduction, regional infrastructure, rural areas and townships and the central business district; and
● creation of the Darling Downs Regional Alliance that brings together wonderful
likeminded organisations across the Toowoomba Local Government area to
collaborate and support each other where possible.
“A Transition Plan has been enacted which includes Todd:
● remaining accountable for the operations of the Toowoomba Chamber, to both the board and our members, until a replacement is appointed;
● enhancing the roles and responsibilities of Lucas Wegener, Executive Officer –
Partnerships and Memberships;
● continuing to play a key role in member advocacy (particularly executing the
Chamber’s advocacy strategy for the upcoming Federal election), oversight of the grant funding, and our flagship event the Business Excellence Awards;
● supporting the incoming CEO’s appointment and onboarding, as required; and
● exploring a post-CEO-departure Executive Officer role at the Toowoomba Chamber, focusing primarily on member advocacy and the Business Excellence Awards, contingent on the full endorsement of both the new CEO and the Board.
“On behalf of the entire board, members, Chamber partners, and staff, I want to
wholeheartedly thank Todd for his service to the Toowoomba Chamber and local businesses.”
“Under his leadership, the organisation has achieved significant growth and success, and we are grateful for his sizable contributions to advocacy and providing members with a platform to strengthen existing networks and connect with other business leaders.
“We look forward to his continued contribution in the coming years”, expressed Myf.
CEO, Todd Rohl, said, “It has been an honour to work with an organisation who is fiercely independent with a willingness to have a strong local voice and hold government accountable.
“It has been a privilege to stand up for the concerns of business and offer up solutions to support the region’s local business community.
“The outcomes achieved during my tenure would not have been possible without the support of the region’s kind, connected and caring business community. “I am grateful for their ongoing assistance, guidance, and mentoring to date.
“I look forward to enacting a smooth transition and continuing to play a very vocal and active role advocating for the city and business community at local, state and federal government levels.
“I will be staying in the region focussing on the ongoing development of my husband’s and my farming business at Boodua and continuing freelance consultancy work’, said Todd.
